Happy Holidays !

Dear Parents,
Our International Feast/ Multi Cultural Night turned out a big success. Thanks to all of you who participated by attending or bringing food or a display item. I owe special thanks to all those Moms and teachers who did a short cultural performance for us from their countries.
I hope that you have had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving week and that it gave you an opportunity to visit with family and friends. We, at the school, did our little share of making the children understand the importance of being grateful for their many blessings.
We will be having our Holiday Program for Froggies on Wednesday the 14th from 5 to 6 in the evening. The Primary classes, Flamingos and Parakeets, will be doing their program on Thursday the 15th of December from five to six in the evening. Please try to attend your child’s presentation because the children and the teachers have worked hard to put together this program. Ms. Melissa, our music and drama teacher, has requested some costumes and props for the function so please try to help us by providing whatever you can.
During the winter months the children pick up different viruses and we do everything we can to keep our students healthy, I would like your support in this. We are continually teaching the kids proper and effective hand washing techniques, teaching proper cough and sneeze techniques ( into tissue or the elbow ), and cleaning all surfaces with disinfectants. The most important way we can prevent and stop the spread of illness is by keeping sick children at home. Thank you for your help in this matter. We hope the flu season will pass without affecting us adversely.
I wish all of you a very blessed holiday season with your family and friends.
Happy New Year

Time for Raffle : a month of free tuition, a sun set sail on an area lake and a month of free sport classes from Jump Bunch

Dear Parents,

The long, dry summer is finally over and autumn is in the air. To avoid the summer heat we tried to stay indoors and really felt the “nature deficit”. With the advent of fall we can be outdoors and connect with nature again and enjoy the cool weather. October also brings with it the idea of witches, ghosts and goblins. We look forward to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then New Year. What a lot of fun and excitement- but with it comes planning and organizing. We, at Cypress Creek Children’s Montessori School, have planned some exciting events.

What is the purpose of the Book Fair? The Book Fair has a two- fold purpose. First, it is a fund- raising event. Scholas-tic gives us more than 50% of our total sales back in the form of merchandise (books). Second, the Book Fair gives the parents the opportunity to buy books for their children in the convenient setting of their child’s school. Please help us increase the number of books in our library by purchas-ing at the Book Fair.

October 21 Parent Teacher Conferences (School Will Re-main OPEN). Please visit the school between 9 and 10 am to observe your child a week prior to the conferences. This will give you an idea of the questions you might ask the teacher during the conference.

October 30 Fall Festival and Open House. Children may wear Halloween costumes and bring a trick o’ treat bag or we will also have a craft table where they can decorate their own bags.
We will also have a Raffle with very interesting prizes – a month of free tuition, a sun set sail on an area lake for a party of five (donated by Paul and Ana Corey) and a month of free sport classes from Jump Bunch. Once we have ten enrollments we will do the drawing in the presence of some parents.

If you have any questions about any of the above please call me at 972-390-0800.

Happy Halloween!!

September Newsletter 2011

Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that summer is over and the new school year has started. I hope that you have had a restful and enjoyable time. Hopefully the last two months have given you the opportunity to travel, visit family or reconnect with friends. Our teachers have been busy this summer as well, preparing and planning for the return of our beloved students.
The children will be learning many skills like practical life, sensorial, the basics of reading and writing and also will be instructed in grace and courtesy. Parents will have questions in their mind as to what will this new experience bring? How can I help? Will everything be alright? These are just a few of the many questions parents ask themselves at the start of every school year.
The teachers and parents are partners in the education of the children. We often expect a daily or a weekly report of the child on a piece of paper and when that piece of paper does not wend its way home then we get upset. The best way to understand your child’s progress and development is the lead teacher. A telephone call or a scheduled visit with the teacher will help understand the progress of the child better.
Your children are important to us and we take our responsibilities as teachers and administrators seriously. We love and appreciate our Cypress Creek Children’s Montessori School families. Let us know if we can be of help to you in anyway.
Sincerely,
Faye Hasan
The teachers have prepared guide lines for their classes and would like the parents to please make sure that they follow them as closely as possible.

August Newsletter

  Cypress Creek Children’s Montessori
  August 2011

Dear Parents,

In June and July we did the summer camps. The hot summer days restricted the children’s outdoor  activities. However we kept them indoors entertained, motivated and challenged. The indoor play areas at our school are a blessing during ozone alert days. The garden produced some cabbage, sweet pepper, cucumbers and mint which we displayed in our lobby area. In some classes the teachers chopped up the cabbage and offered it to the children with Ranch dressing.

We have two final weeks of summer program in August. During this time Mr. Paul will be    doing his Jump Bunch class on Monday and Thursday  mornings. Children who take this extracurricular class in the afternoon love it that is why I decided to try it in the morning as a physical fitness class.

Preparations are under way for August 15, which is the first day of school. We will be closed for staff development on August 12. On August 14 we have scheduled “Meet the Teachers Night” from 3 to 5 o’clock. Please stop by to see us. We have  arranged for a snow cone vendor to come to the school during open house hours and sell each cone for only $2.00 each. I am sure the children would love that.

I welcome the new and returning families to our school. The first two weeks of school are     always difficult. The separation anxiety experienced is evidenced by both the sobbing      youngsters and the teary eyed parents. I would encourage you to be strong as this is just the first milestone in developing your child’s independence. I am available to help you answer any      questions or talk to you about ‘normalization’.

Thank you for your confidence and continued support.

Sincerely

Faye Hasan
